Channel at Lake Superior Interfaith Community Church December 18, 2022

On December 18, I had the great joy to lead a singalong and do a channel at Lake Superior Interfaith Community Church in Duluth, Minnesota. Wouldn’t you know I got laryngitis.

I first arrived at LSICC in 1998 by way of a book signing for our first book, Diaries of the Psychic Sorority: Talking With the Angels. The girls and I scheduled an event at the Duluth Barnes and Noble, never suspecting anyone would come. Instead, 35 people from the church arrived, back when it was Spiritualist. They invited us over and I’ve been speaking and singing here ever since. I’ve recently agreed to be on the board!

Back to December 18: After Carolyn Sheets sent out a prayer to our ancestors, I began to channel. I felt a decided animated energy coming through. Though you can’t hear the question, it’s basically, “Who are you?”

As I heard them introduce the cohorts—Einstein and the Party, the Angels, all our relatives—quite unexpectedly to me a group appeared that had deep connection to the church, led by a very persuasive Reverend. When he identified himself, he broke down in tears, awed and joyful that he could, from Afterlife, stand at the front of the very church he loved and helped to build and now talk as one of the “dead people.” We all, on both sides of the veil, felt the profundity of that moment as the church’s ancestors did indeed appear.

After the service, as we enjoyed our meal together downstairs, I asked around about the origins of the church. Seems a group of spiritualists used to meet in each other’s homes in the 1950s and decided to organize and build a church. This “sturdy little church” is indeed that, and I am honored to be a part of it.

In 2023, we’ve decided to hold a regular Second Sunday Singalong and Share, where once a month I will lead the group in singing some mighty joyful and inspiring songs together, then I’ll channel and then we open for questions and conversation.

If you’re in the neighborhood, come on down. All are welcome.
